This striking two-piece Star of David necklace, in 925 sterling silver and 9 carat gold, is a beautiful representation of the Jewish faith.
On the gold part of this handcrafted pendant, the prayer “Shema Yisrael” (Hear O Israel) is carved in a modern, almost abstract way. The sterling under section of the pendant is carved with the initials of the blessing of the Cohanim, “The Lord bless thee and keep thee; The Lord make His face to shine upon thee and be gracious unto thee; The Lord lift up His countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.” (Book of Numbers, 6:24-26).
This priestly blessing, or Birkat Hakohanim/Nesiat Kapayim was only recited by Kohanim at the temple. It was recited to Moses on the day he finished setting up the sacred tabernacle in the middle of the Israelit camp in the Sinai desert.
